比較対象物の限定と比較級を用いた表現法
（hese peak currents are much higher for sulphur-cured EPDM than for peroxide-cured EPDM（EPDM硫黄加硫物に対するこれらの電流のピークは、パーオキサイド加硫物よりかなり高い。）
10回目は、比較評価の表現法の内、比較対象物の限定と比較級を用いた表現法です。
1．比較対象物限定の表現法
例1 Compared to the unaged sample, the changes of the viscoelastic spectrum of aged samples characterize a crosslinking reaction, in that (1) …; (2) … ; and (3) ….
（未老化試料に比べて、老化試料の粘弾性スペクトルの変化は、下記(1) …、(2)…、(3)…から、ゲル化反応を裏付ける。
例2 This antioxidant has superior resistance to evaporation and extraction compared to conventional antioxidants.
（この酸化防止剤は、従来の酸化防止剤に比べて、耐揮発性と耐抽出性に優れている。）
例3 Compared with the corresponding mercaptan grades , they show a lower polydispersity index.
（対応するメルカプタングレードと比べて、それらはより低い多分散指数を示す。）
①“compared to”“compared with”共に、文頭および文中でも使用可能。
②例1、2の“compared to”は類似点の比較に対し、例3の“compared with”は相違点を比較。
例4 In comparison with ABC, XYZ provides somewhat better ozone resistance.
（ABCと比較して、XYZでは耐オゾン性が幾分良好となる。）
例5 The 70℃ permeabilities are 30% higher for silica-filled compounds in comparison with those filled with carbon black.
（シリカ充填配合ゴムの70℃での通気性は、カーボンブラック配合ゴムに比べて、30%高くなる。）
例6 A comparison of these photographs with the photograph of the specimen without ABC clearly indicates the finer morphology generated by the ABC.
（ABCが添加されていない試料の写真とこれらの写真を比較することで、明らかにABCにより微細な形態が生成されているのがわかる。）
例7 A detailed comparison of the Recipe I results with conventional sulfur vulcanizates reveals no surprising effect.
