～により…と結論される。
It may be concluded from these results that chain rupture occurs during ageing.
これらの結果から、主鎖開裂は老化中に起こると結論付けられるだろう。
1．「～を基に…と結論した」の表現法
第4回目は、結果・結論の表現法です。
例1：It may be concluded from these results that in the case of NR, chain rupture occurs during ageing resulting in reduction of gel content.
（これらの結果から、NRの場合は主鎖開裂が老化中に起こり、ゲル含有量が減少する結果となったと結論付けられるだろう。）
例2：The superior ageing resistance of the cyclic diene containing polymers can be explained on the basis of the structure of the EPDMs.
（環状ジエンを有するポリマーの優れた耐老化性は、EPDMの構造を基本に説明することができる。）
①例1の“It is concluded from A that ～”が、Aを根拠とした結論の表現法で、例2の“～ on the basis of A ”も同様の表現法である。
②この他に文法解釈は別にして、“Based on ～,…”の表現も少なくない。
2．結果・結論をまとめて要約する時の表現法
例3：The results obtained can be summarized as follows.
1. Deactivating the nitrogen oxide species
2. Improving the stability of the amine containing accelerator fragment
（得られた結果は、以下のように要約される。
1. N－オキサイド類の不活性化
2. 促進剤の一部を有したアミンの安定性の改善）
例4：Some answers have been obtained:
●for ageing resistanc：use of ABC and MgO
●for scorching problems：use of ABC
（幾つかの知見が得られた。
●耐老化性には、ABCと酸化マグネシウムを使用する
●スコーチの問題には、ABCを使用する。）
例5：It is thus possible
a) to reduce the amount of Formula I drastically
b) to reduce the vulcanization time to an acceptable 30 minutes at 150℃.
（かくして、
a）式Iの量を劇的に減らし
b)加硫時間を対応可能な150℃で30分まで減少することが可能となる。）
例6：The protection effect observed in various experiments can be summarized by a rating system, ranging from 1 for excellent to 5 for poor.
（各種実験で観察された保護効果は、1（優）から5（劣）の5段階の評価システムで要約される。）
①例3～5は、箇条書きで結果を列挙する時の表現法
②例6は、効果を等級で評価する時の表現法
3．「実験等で見出された新たな知見」の表現法
例7：The results presented here demonstrate that the ABC have a property that is beneficial in dynamically stressed rubber goods.
（ここで示した結果は、ABCが動的に圧縮されるゴム製品に有益な性質を持つことを示唆する。）
例8：Research has proven that co-agents are very effective in generic EPDM and EPM rubber formulations.
（研究は、助剤が汎用EPDMとEPM（EPR）ゴム組成物にたいへん有効であることを明らかにした。）
①例7の“demonstrate”は「明確に示す」、例8の“prove”は「立証する」の表現法で、意味合いはいずれも強い表現となっている。
例9：The hot air ageing behavior in the fatigue-to-failure test (Figure 1) show how much the products differ from the standard material.
（疲労破壊試験での加熱空気劣化挙動（図1）は、生成物が標準物質とどれだけ異なるかを示す。）
①例9の“show”は、一般的な「示す」の意味で、幅広い場面で使用される。
例10：This indicates there is little structural difference in the amorphous portion of these polymers.
（これは、これらのポリマーのアモルファス部分に、あまり構造的差異がないことを示唆する。）
例11：These findings suggest the validity of the reaction sequence postulated (Scheme 1).
（これらの知見は、仮定された反応系列（スキーム1）の妥当性を示唆する。）
①例10の“indicate”は、「兆候を示す」、例11の“suggest”は、「暗示する」「示唆する」と訳され、その意味合いは弱い表現となる。
4．「見つける」の表現法
例12：It is observed that CaO gives comparable results with that of PbO in conjunction with diamine.
（酸化カルシウムは、ジアミンと併用することで、酸化鉛と匹敵する結果を与えることが観察される。）
①「見つける」の表現としては、例12の“observe”の他に、“find”もよく使われる。
②新しい知見を強調した表現法としては、“Especially noteworthy are ～”、“Most important is the observation that ～”、“It was interesting to note that ～”、“It needs to be mentioned here that ～”、“Therefore, it is justifiable to say that ～”、“An interesting fact is that ～”などがある。
